no, just go from the bottom, depends on how good you are at getting things into tight spaces. pulling the cab would make everything much more accessible, but isn't necessary unless you feel it is.

If you can spare some more time on your project, I would suggest taking the cab off. I think you would be much happier in the long run. You can get a good look at everything and not have to worry about fitting your tools into the tight places. You would be able to do a better job also. Whatever you decide, good luck.
