67 cab mount question

hi all
I have 67 f 100 that I am slowly fixing up.
my drivers side front cab mount is toast and looks like it will colapse on it's self soon. Has anyone ever made mounts out of tube steel . like an up side down tripod welded to the cab.
This cab floor was rusty and some one did a nice job fiberglassing
the floor .replacement cab mounts will require a lot of metal replaced on floor.
looking to get a few more years out of this cab untill I can get my hands on a good cab. One with a little more metal in the floor.

67 cab mount question

My 2 cents:

Anything can be done if you want too. However, I would go with replacement floor pans and cab mounts. I bought both pieces for both sides of the truck at Autofair in Charlotte for a total of $150.00. All USA parts as well. If the cab is too far gone elsewhere, may be time to hit the junkyard.

Good luck.

67 cab mount question

When I bought my '71 F250 4x4, the front pass. side cab mount had been replaced by a piece of 2x3 box steel with mounting flanges. It doesn't look pretty, but I am sure it's stronger than the original. But, I agree with the above post. I plan to replace it one day with factory replacement parts.
