Walleye if I were going the upgrade route are the early and late inlets the same or different since I just bough a brand new one id like to keep it. Problem is I found a guy on craigslist that says hes parting out a 2002 wreck but now hes saying he wants to sell it whole for $7500 here's the link. This would be perfect for what I need to do https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/...590548568.html

One salient point remains unanswered in my opinion: is the e99 PS up pipe the same length as the PS L99 up pipe when comparing the two. If not, you may wind up having to cut both the PS and the DS L99 up pipes so that the collector indexes properly to the turbo. I would want to know the answer to this prior to cutting and then welding the DS up pipe.

It has been about 3 years since I did the update. IIRC, both of the L99 up pipes are different lengths than the e99 up pipes. I could be wrong. I have read that the collectors are not identical either even though they look like they are the same.

I think there was a thread years ago that addressed this, but I can not find it due to the search function here now being worse IMO.

I think I was looking at that thread which said from the 94.5 power-stroke to 2003 the PS is the same only the DS changes, I think because of the pedestal, but I will double check before cutting

Baby's butt collectors should be the same with the exception of the flanges where the up pipes bolt to.
The bolt spacing on the early collector is smaller than the late which is why the bellows is not right up against the collector on the early specific pipes.

socali, do you have the collector and pass side up pipe bolted up?

The turbo inlet tubes are different. When I updated mine I was caught with my pants down on that part and was able to make the old one work until the new one arrived. $7500 is too much for that truck IMO. I've bought a couple of parts vehicles off of govdeals.com for much less than that.

Problem fixed I took the driver side up pipe to the exhaust shop and had 5/8 cut out and welded back together so it fits now I also cut off the dowel pin in the collector so I dont have to worry about them not lining up.
