I have 1 bolt missing on the exhaust manifold, passenger side, closest to the cab. I hear the ticking when I first start it up and after 5 minutes it warms up and it goes away.
Question: If I am climbing a hill loaded, for a long time, can the gasket get so hot that it loses it's seal, begins to tick, and causes loss of power? That is what happened but I don't know what it was and the mechanic doesn't either because I can't recreate it.
Could that gasket and seal be the problem? Oil pressure, temp, and everything was reading fine.
