I have a exhaust leak on the left(drivers) side...I have replaced the gasket once and realized there is one broken stud in the head. It was quite for a while after the new gasket and now is getting louder...other than getting the stud out with allot of work...is there a better gasket or can i go metal to metal with no gasket?
Read this link for some ideas recently presented regarding a broken flywheel bolt. Perhaps one of these will work for you and the exhaust manifold bolt.
+1 on welding through a nut to it.
It seems the only way to get decent results in place.
Ford never used a gasket.
I like CopperCoat on both surfaces if I'm going that way.
But, I usually just slot the bolt holes on both sides so the manifold can expand and use a laminated gasket with stainless steel bolts.
This is what works for me on my 460.
