Sorry guys for what is perhaps silly questions, its just so darn hard to figure out and I have read many threads and watched a lot of youtube videos from tonneau manufacturers/reviewers so let me see if I can get one or more of you to help me out.
I would like a hard tonneau cover for my F350 dually (8 foot bed) that can be easily removed with nothing remaining at the front of the bed/back of the cab area. I sometimes need to fit two full pallets in the truck so any mounting or hardware that stays on the front of the bed/back of the cab area won't work. I can have hardware that remains along the bed sides.
I currently have a Roll-n-Lock which will not fit your criteria. However, I have been checking out the Diamondback bed covers. They have several models for different functions. They may be a little on the heavy side so removing them might be a two or more person job. Check 'em out. https://diamondbackcovers.com/products/diamondbackhd?variant=28732457161
I have the diamondback hd cover. You can put 1600lbs on it. It's not hard to remove if needed but it would take longer to get it back on as there is no hardware installed and lining it up could take a few. I believe it weighs 100lbs in total. 2 big panels are 35lbs or so and the middle one is 30. I got it mostly for security of the bed. It would be a tough one to break into for sure. It also has been perfect at keeping the bed dry.
If you don't require it to be waterproof, or anything resembling waterproof, then I'd recommend Peragon. I've got one on my 8ft bed.... very nice and secure. And very easy to remove to provide full bed length access. There is still some rails overhanging the sides, and a little brackety up in front of the wheel wells, but you can put 2 full pallets in without a problem.
I think the complexity of removal and re-installation and hardware is dependent, in part, on the degree of security you need. I have little need for security, so I have a Lund Genisis Elite tri-fold soft over. It keeps the contents of my bed dry and is very easily removed (no hardware to remove) for loads. A number of manufacturer's offer tri-fold "hard section" covers, that are as easily removed and a little more secure. From there, covers become heavier, more secure, more expensive, and not as easily removed. Good luck with your search.
Look at bak mx4 and f1. They can flip all the way up to totally open the bed. F1 is a composite, mx4 is coated aluminum.
I’m full of free time waiting for my ‘19 to come in... and this is what I’ve settled on. I will be using my truck for its intended purpose, not to carry soccer ***** or brief cases.
They are definitely in the category of water resistant, not water proof... but I’ve settled on best compromise I think...
I also have the diamondback HD. Have removed it three times now, marked the bed top caps with a sharpie before I removed it the first time. Line up the marks and lock it down with the supplied camper shell style clamps. Easier to remove with a step ladder around to get in and out of the bed. Not very easy to remove on the road but most bigger things that aren’t planned can be put on the top.
I have had an Extang Solid Fold 2.0 on my last two trucks. I am going to get one for my new truck (just took delivery tonight!). It's insulated, water tight, and supports plenty of weight on top should you need that. it's not designed for hauling stuff up there, but I regularly set all sorts of junk on mine, for example when opening the tailgate or door to load it in. If you want 2/3 of your bed accessible, it folds up and the rear most panels store on top of the front most panel, strapped in place. If you need full bed capacity, the whole thing comes off in about 3 minutes leaving no traces behind. it works by using these beefy little plastic hooks hooks that drop down from the underside of the cover and hook under the lip of the bed rail. those get tightened by hand on the front two, and the rears are spring-loaded. Granted, I've never had one on an 8' bed, but I don't see that as an issue. best of all IMO, when my truck took quite a lot of hail damage a few months ago, the cover was almost completely unscathed. Good luck in your search!

if you really want a Bak F1, the Linex people carry what they call is their Truck Gear hardcover. . But it is made by Bak for Linex and it is EXACTLY the F1. Why would you buy that from Linex instead of from Bak? Because like everything Linex, it has a lifetime warranty. I had the Linex spray bedliner and their Truck Gear Bak F1 hard cover on my last F350 and plan on the same combo for my next F350.
btw exact same price to the cent as the Bak F1. LOL
