Supercab rear door ajar switch.

Hello all,,
My 2011 F350 super cab right, rear, door shows open all the time. Did a little research on here and found that there is a problem with wires breaking in the accordion going into the door.
Pulled the rubber boot and the wires looked great. I was able to jumper the wires for the switch at the plug-in and then the door showed closed

So.... haven’t pulled the door apart yet but was hoping somebody could tell me where that door ajar switch is located in that super cab passenger door.
Thanks!
John

I don't know if they are at all the same, but I had this problem on a few Ford cars. A shot of WD40 in the latching mechanism always took care of the problem. Wouldn't hurt to try.
Hope it helps,
Rich

My supercab throws the message when the door is slammed hard or I hit a really hard bump in the road. It goes away after someone opens and closes the door, and sometimes just goes away on its own. I have read somewhere that Ford had some issues with the supercab rear door switches on the 11-16 body style trucks, but I'm not sure if that is what you are experiencing. I too would like to know where the switch is, so maybe I can loosen mine up so that it stops going on and off intermittently.

I’ll try the WD-40 and report back. Mine isn’t intermittent, it always shows open. Would still like to know if it’s located on the top or bottom latch.

Haven’t had a chance to get into the door yet, but pretty amazing how fat that wire bundle is going into the door for no power locks or windows!
Driving the truck up the Alaska Highway right now, but I’ll find a chance eventually.
