Hey guys im working on a 2005 f350 SRW 6.0 and the front driver wheel bearing is very noisy. I know on my 2001 f250 had wheel bearings you could not replace. Can you replace just the bearings or do you have to replace the whole hub?
You did not post if its 4x4 or not? But if it is 4x4 then on the 2005+ the hubs are not serviceable. So yes, you need to replace the whole hub bearing bolt on assembly.
i went with precision brand when i did mine.. only had to take back 1 for warranty.. both been good since... prior to that i had 3 Motorcrap ones on the truck within 3 years... first one (passenger) failed 3 months after getting the truck.. one on the other side (driver) failed about a yr later... then the passenger side one failed again 2 months after the 2 yr warranty..
when the passenger side one failed outside of warranty i started getting precision.. both sides eventually ended up getting replaced but about 3months after id done the one on the driver side the passenger side went again.. nice thing was it was under their warranty.. guy at the store said it was the first time they ever had one come back that quick.. reason it failed was due to the inner and outer seals for the sealed internal bearing let go..
