I mentioned earlier I need to replace my front wheel bearings on a 02 4x4. There is a $30 difference between the Timken bearing and National bearing on Rock Auto. Is there a quality difference where I should purchase the National bearings at a premium to the Timken.
Both are listed for the 4x4 with 4 wheel ABS and five lugs.
???????????? I have an '02 f150 4x4 and just had the left front hub/bearing assembly replaced. I was told by a very good friend that the front bearings can not be replaced separately. THe hub/bearing assembly is a one piece unit that has to be replaced.
I normally do most work on my stuff myself, but time constraints and need for the truck caused me to ask my friend to do the work.
Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.

Yes it is a hub/bearing assembly on the 4x4. That is why it is so expensive. I think I will go with the Timken, at least that will save me $60. Also, if you have front ABS, the senser is also in the assembly.
does anybody know what's the torque for that front bearing when puting it back together. i mean the nut holding the shaft and bearing in place the size of the sucket for it is 1 inch an 3/8. thanks 2002, f 150 4x4
