Clutch return spring

The return spring on my '64 is a replacement by the P.O. It has almost no tension and doesn't fully retract the clutch. It also seams kind of weak,
How strong should the springs be? Is there a guide line as far as how much tension it should be under?
Thanks.

I have a clutch spring that I just took out of my 65. If you need one let me know. Get a measurement on overall length and let me know. I will measure mine. I have an auto tranny in it now. I have not used the clutch pedal in years. The pedal has been pushed to the floor board. The spring seems like it is still good. Let me know what you want to do.

Thanks for the offer Livewyre. The truck is in the shop having the clutch worked on. Something went out and I couldn't shift unless
the engine was off. Pedal was staying partially down and had no effect. No abnormal noise. Hopefully they replace the spring since it
should be 4.6" and not 9 3/8" that ND posted. Thanks ND for that Info.

Where did I say the spring is 9 3/8 inches?

There is a spring that is 9.16" long with 35 coils, but it's for a 1966 F100/250 2WD & 1966 F100 4WD from serial number 830,001.
