2010 E350 Lowering

2010 E350 ext. I'd love to be able to get this thing into more parking garages. It looks like it might clear 7ft 0 in. Some garages around here are 6'10" or 6'8" clearance. Has anyone here lowered one or know of a lowering kit that is available?

Try doing a search. I feel like I remember a few years ago someone did it and got some fairly wide tires too. I can't remember of they used drop beams & springs or what.

Yikes.. I don't know what kind of luck you will have with this. Even if you can lower the truck a few inches the long wheelbase/body will make curved ramps dicey and what about clearance at level changes, sometimes to get in or out of these structures you have to go up and down levels and while there may be clearance driving around on the flats if there is a beam or pipe across the roof at the entrance to a ramp you will get stuck.

We get this exact question here a couple times per year. (And I always say that when they do lol)

the answer is no; it’s not really possible. Not within reason.

The rear axle axle is too close to the frame; there’s only a scant 2-3 inches of room. If you lower it 2 inches then you have only an inch of travel. That would make for harshness and possible safety issues.

On the front: same issue- very little travel clearance. Only difference is that people inevitably start talking about drop spindles and bending the I beams. In my 5 years on FTE, no one has ever even claimed to have bent the I beams. It’s always just a pipe dream.

With that said; I have a 2007 E350 and I love it. I also love lowered vehicles and I’ve spent a good deal of time looking into this idea. And I’m here to tell you that lowering the suspension is not a reasonable idea. Sure, you could get it done with enough money- notching the frame and other expensive modifications, but you sound like an average joe that wants a normal van that is maybe just a few inches shorter.
