I don't think it is tire rubbing. Possibly tire scrub.... I don't know. It was really a bad noise and feeling. Felt a bit like the front diff locking up or something. Maybe I should have the dealer take a look.
The exact same thing happened to me almost sounded like and felt like the front wheel drive line was locked in on a dry road in a real tight turn, only in the back. It only has done it once only 5000K on a 17 f250 xlt 6.2 with electic rear diff
. It felt really weird . Going in for my first oil change this weekend will ask Ford shop about it , lets see what they say.

Reason: typo
This has come up in other threads, seems to be something to do with the torqueshift G transmission. My driveway is on a slope and I get this every time I goose the gas when backing in, after I let off the gas as the engine is returning back to idle speed. If I keep the throttle smooth on the way up I don’t have the issue. Going to bring it up to the dealer at the next oil change. Thought at first it was possibly the traction control kicking in but had tried with it off and same thing. Going to bring it up to the dealer at the next oil change. My driveway reads a 8 degree angle on the off-road screen, if you can find an angle like that when your at the dealer and they test drive it you will probably be able to replicate it.
This does seem like what other people are experiencing and calling transmission shudder. Seems to be fairly common but no one has been able to have a dealer experience it.
Yes, that is how I would describe it - shudder. Hubs are in "auto" when it does it - I have not "locked" the hubs as of yet. I only have 3K miles on it so far and the other day was the first time I experienced it. It has happened several times since then. Only when the wheel is cut hard in either direction when backing up, and I think it is only on an incline.
