I am looking at different gearboxes to fit behind the 7.3 I am planning to put into my 76 F250 (big mod I know). Basically the more gears the better. A bloke has offered me a 6 speed ZF and 7 speed ZF gearbox, which he said might fit. Where could I get a belloushing to fit it made up and how many $$$$? Could I even modify a 5 speed bellhousing to fit a different gearbox?
Lastly the bloke selling the gearboxes wants to know the exact model of the stock Ford ZF 5 speed so he can look one up for me, thanks in advance, any help is good help,
I'm sure its different from all the gas motors . I found the model number its like 5s-ZF-42. I believe that 6peed should work I found this at a transmission parts site(http://www.drivetrain.com/zfford.html)
IDENTIFICATION - End loaded aluminum case with integral bellhousing. Tag is located on the left side of the case with a Ford code and ZF number 13-07-XXX-XXX.
