I just recently had to replace my windshield due to a rock. I decided to tint the whole windshield. I’m now experiencing what appears to be “waves” or looking through blinds across the whole windshield. It’s a slightly blurry look.
Has anyone else tinted their windshield and experienced this? Specifically with the SoundScreen windshield.
I mentioned it to the tint shop and he’s willing to re-tint if it doesnt go away. I don’t believe it will get any better, it’s been 6 days now. I’m just wondering if it’s not the windshield.
But with no tint there was no blurriness.
I have my Soundscreen windshield tinted and experienced some blurriness right after it was done. It eventually went away and all was good. 6 days might not be enough time. I would give it some more time, and if it doesn't go away I would try a different brand of tint. I am not sure what my tint guy uses but mine matches the factory tint perfectly.
Blurriness is sometimes water remaining between the tint and the glass. 6 days is a little long for the drying process to complete...most side windows are dry within 2 days. Maybe it being such a large piece of tint takes longer to dry. You might try setting it out in the sun and let it bake for a full day
Tinting the whole windshield is illegal here, but I did have a Brow Tint strip applied to the top, and it was optically clear within 30 minutes after he applied it. Not sure where you are located or what the temps there are, but if it is pretty warm there and it has been more than a few days, I would have the installer take a look at it.

I’m in SoCal. This past weekend was in the 90’s, so I’m gonna dismiss the drying process as being an issue. But who knowsS
I’ll give it a couple more days, but I think it’s either bad tint or the windshield itself. I did have ceramic tinit applied, not sure if that would make a difference.
I have seen many cars with cheap windshields installed and they looked exactly as you described. Not sure what brand you installed...
Funny you say that. When I picked up my truck after it was replaced I checked for the SoundScreen logo. It wasn’t there and I called my buddy who’s the GM at the Ford dealer where I took the truck for the replacement. He questioned it with the installer and they were going to order a new windshield. Well, long story short I was told and shown a letter (because the new ordered windshield also didn’t have the logo) that says the new windshields with the part number that matches my Vin don’t have the SoundScreen logo above the vin number anymore because all their windshields are now SoundScreens.
