Rotella ELC NF
I have going thru all the fluids and greasing chassis on my 2016 F450 , scumbag dealer documented he did full service on my truck I got from them and never changed the oil and all the grease areas were bone dry , luckly the truck only has 12k on it and I have some documentation up to that point .
Antifreeze appears to be a bit low , maybe needs a pint or so can still see coolant in the degass tank .
I did do some reading on the coolant testing , I have not had a ford since my 2001 7.3 and remember testing and adjusting the SCA's
Not doing it now but did see Rotella is now offering a Rotella ELC Nitrate Free coolant .
Shell says its compatible with fords WSSM97B44D coolant .
Has anyone flushed and switched over ?
Shell ROTELLA® ELC-NF Added to Robust Coolant Portfolio | Shell ROTELLA®
Example: Subaru has their own coolant as well as a coolant additive, and it is engineered to prevent head gasket deterioration. Many Subaru owners have experienced blown head gaskets, but some people think it’s all the same coolant (it’s not). Subaru even had a TSB many years ago about why the coolant and additive had to be used. Other manufacturers have their own reasons and their own additives. Why go against their engineers recommendations? Same thing with transmission fluid, as clutch pack materials and other components have their own specific lubricant needs based on material composition.
Just my two cents!

It just seems ford has designed this to be a money generator for them , why would have a coolant that requires them to service and sell a charge agent .
I still have a cummins and my daily driver is a Duramax LML requires no testing and our big trucks we run ELC NF requires no maintenance.
My last truck was a 2001 f350 with 7.3 , I remember had sand casting problems and after ford put 2 water pumps I installed a aftermarket coolant remote filter .
I do remeber testing the SCA's ... Why wouldn't make a product that requires you buy stuff from them .
My F-450 is basiclly my Toy hauler wont get much use , I only 13k on the truck right now I'm going to stick with the Factory stuff for a few miles .
I can't see why I would not give it a try , Nitrate Free , It has the Ford Compadability numbers .
The coolant was 1qt low , I did not see any leaks , I do have some history on the truck was just bought to tow a hitch tow camper , The truck did sit for months at a time .
Not sure if the EGR could be going out at 13K or just something stupid , worst case truck still has warranty and I can take it in but I do plan on EGR delete down the road so I will stick with the MC orange and put a few miles on the truck to see if I get any coolant loss .
