I am trying to get my 66 f100 truck mechanically sound before i completely assemble it.
I Yesterday i received my new flasher emergency switch and i installed it.
I tried to turn on the signal lights and only one side on the dash lights up. If i turn on the flashers, both lights on the dash light up. So a least i know the signal bulbs are not burned out and are functioning.
I do not have any tail/signal lights hooked up,
Front signal lights are just dangling off the firewall. they do not light up.
At the flasher relay, i do have power coming in. No idea if my flasher relay is any good. However, i did try a few others.
I think someone will tell me the answer is to put the truck together they try again after all grounds are installed.
Thanks

Well, it is true that the housing for the front and rear lights is also the ground plane so the housings MUST be grounded in order to have a complete circuit. At a minimum a jumper wire from the housing to ground. They just ain't gonna work without that.
And may need both bulbs, front & back wired into the system as the flashers work on load and with 1 bulb may not be enough load to work the flasher.
