Ford Radio Schematic Question

I have puzzle on my hands. I purchased a ford radio out of a 1995 aerostar and i am trying to install it in a 1984 F150, I have all the F150 schematics. But no aerostar schematics. The radio is a standard ford Radio F68F 19B132 CA . I visited a local wrecking yard and found the correct connector plugs for the back of the radio and now i really have lots of questions. I visited the Install Doctor website and got some information but none of my wire colors match. I am a bit nervous about hooking up the radio without some verification of the aerostar schematics or the radio schematics. There are two large plugs (8 pin) and one small plug 2 pin. I have no clue as to what the two pin plug does.
When looking at the back of the radio one 8 pin connector is on the right another is on the left they have opposing keyed connector plugs the small 2 pin connector is in between the two large connectors. Which pins are the power?
Can anyone help?

Wink Ford Aerostar Radio Wiring?

Hello I a new user and noticed this old post of yours. I now have the same problem not knowing the wiring of the two large (7 & 8 pin) connectors on the rear of the F68F series radio I am trying to install in another truck. I have figured out the 8 pin Right Hand plug are the 4 speaker outputs (2 left & 2 right, front & rear). I am guessing the small 2 pin plug is for an auto retract antenna but that is only a guress and not important to me. I would like to know what it is however.

I have also figured out that the top pin on the left 7-pin connector should be + 12v and the 6 th pin down from the top is chassis ground. Now I am stuck!!! I understand I must have both the +12v Ignition and the +12v Key both powered up to get the radio to work but not sure of the pin to use, don't want to burn the radio up.

I know there 4 additional pins to try applying +12v to which are Pins-2, 3, 4 & 7 at the bottom. Did you ever solve this old problem. Do you have the wiring diagram of the 2 large and 1 small connectors? If so will you please get in touch with me. ahoecker@citlink.net. Thank you very much, August

not sure if this will help, the areostars have radio controls in the back seat. that might be the extra wires. also look at www.installdr.com under "quick raido wireing info"

The two 8 pin connectors are C257 and C258. the Pinouts are as follows:
C257:
1 (LG/Y) Radio Memory Power
2 Not used
3 (Y/BK) Radio Power
4 (LB/R) Radio Graphics Lighting
5 (O/BK) Display Back Lighting (LCD)
6 (R) Radio Ground
7 (O/LB) Radio "ON" Signal (Elect. Cluster)
8 Not Used

C258
1 (O/LG) Left Front Speaker (Standard Cluster)
2 (BK/W) Common
3 (PK/LG) Left Rear Channel
4 (R/BK) Seek Station Up
5 (W/LG) Right Front Speaker (Standard Cluster)
6 (O/BK) Seek Stations Down
7 (PK/LB) Right Rear Channel
8 (BG/O) Seek for Memory Station

I don't see anything resembling a 2 pin connector.
Hope this helps.

The 2 pin connector is an older style (pre '86). The big lug is the accessory feed, and the little lug is the illumination. The 8 pin plug is the speaker connector. There should be a big metal ring that the radio slips into in the dash, this is the ground, there is no radio ground wire in the harness. Only speaker grounds, and that metal piece in the dash.
