Does anyone have a picture(s) of the chain / latch assy. holding the gate closed?
I got a set of chains / latch assy. when my brother sent the tail gate and he said they where from something else but I am not sure of that.
I say that because they bolt up and have the square part to fit the bed but when latched they don't look right.
I dint have a picture of them latched yet but will soon.
Dave ----
Thanks Bill
I don't see a latch just a chain and it looks like the hook goes thru the "ear" on the gate but what does it go thru on the body to hold the gate up?
Dave ----
Thanks Bill

I can post pics for ya Dave, but my usual host is down...
I have to figure out how to load 'em on here I guess.
Worked just fine and thanks.
I am test fitting the tail gate and chains and the chains just did not look right to me when I installed them.
The bolt end I knew but the latch is what did not look right.
How I have mine right now.
Thanks again
Dave G.
edit: I just looked closer at your last picture and see the rubber bump stop then thinking I don't remember a hole in the gate for it.
Then I looked at my picture and see the hole in the handle so mine are on wrong.
LOL I was editing my post above to say that LOL
Dave ----
It's all good now.
I was going to buy a new set this year since mine are all rusty and ugly, but I'm thinking I may just clean them up and paint, install some new sleeves, etc.
They're available from places like LMC, and I see on Ebay as well:
Hey Bill, while you're there with a bed breakdown...
Do the flareside and the styleside share the same gas door/assembly? Do you have an image that shows it?
No they do not as I found out when I was trying to hook up the filler tubes and see what all would work.
At the time 1 of the style side filler tubes and the inside plastic "box" fit the best for the front, my flare side front filler assy. was a bunch of parts to make it work.
Anyway when I went to bolt the style side plastic box to the flare side fender I found the 4 screws that hold the box & door in place had a different spacing.
So in short the FS & SS doors, box and tubes are different.
I will do a post showing this at some time soon.
