Hi,
I just got a Curt 2.5” 7 hole shank, but the drop only puts the top of the ball at 25” off the ground, but I was looking for 25”
But the bigger concern is that this shank used with the Ford 3” to 2.5” adaptor results in sloppiness......not happy about towing like this.
What are everyone’s thoughts on this?
thanks again......
I also needed more drop than the Curt shank provides. The Equalizer shank only has 6 holes but note that they start below the horizontal portion of the hitch unlike the Curt. This shank has a 6” drop which works perfectly for my travel trailer.
Andersen Hitches also sells a 3" shank WDH. I have one and it works fine for me.
I forgot about the Andersen. My issue was I already had the EAZ Lift WD head and the open center on the Andersen won't work on the EAZ. I didn't want to buy a whole new set-up.
I finally decided on an Equalizer Shank, part # 90-02-4900.
Paid $150 on Amazon.
I mounted my Blue Ox Sway Pro weight distribution head to this and fit perfectly.
My truck is an 2017 F350 6.7 CCLB.
The Equalizer has a 2.5" shank, and a 10 inch drop.
The drop is perfect because unlike the blue ox and curt ones, the drop bolt holes start lower......getting the ball lower.
I was able to set mine with a 'top of ball' height at 24" off ground, and I could have lowered it another notch if I wanted to.
Also using it with the Ford 3" to 2.5" sleeve reducer was good, with acceptable play.
Hope this helps with anyone else that has the same needs that I do.
