You mustve gotten one of the old old wiring harnesses. Did you order directly from recon? I had to call recon and get the guy to go look in the back to get one with the plug and then I bought that one. The other wiring harness I bought off of eBay so I had to return, minus 20% restocking fee.

I actually ordered through eBay from a ford dealer so I’m not sure how that’ll work.. he said they ordered one too many kits and sold that one for 129.00...another thing...do these kits not come with screws? How did you screw yours down?
I have another question. The harness plug located in the passenger a pillar...can you wire the recon harness bare wires into the dummy plug? If so, how can this be done?
You need to call recon and order a new harness. It is not a different harness number, they just updated the harness to include the plug
there is a scre and a nut for each light. I didn’t use the nuts, just the screws. Tapped the roof for the screws and siliconed in place

SCfire I completely understand what you’re saying however I didn’t purchase directly from recon so I don’t want to buy an extra harness since this one can’t be returned to them. I’m pretty sure I have found the plug I am looking for though. I will confirm tomorrow or the next day when I pick it up but if anyone gets a bare wire recon harness you will probably need ford part wpt-982
For reference this is an empty shot of the plug for the recon harness or where wpt-982 would go into. It looks like the two bare wires from the recon harness would need to wire into the 1 and 3 hole. I am no electrician so I could be wrong
I hear ya man. I just think for $45 bucks it’s worth saving yourself the hassle and you know it will work.

Well I am 1/4 of the way there. For anyone that may ever get in my situation that orders a recon harness with bare wires, wpt-982 is the connector you need. When wiring connect the red harness wire to the far left (#1) green plug wire and the black harness wire to the 3rd position green plug wire. Sorry for the crude terminology. I’m not an electrician but hope this helps someone
Well they are done and I never want to drop the headline or do that ever again..couple things that happened to me is the recon measurements didn’t seem to work for me on the two outer lights...I couldn’t get any sealants under those two lights from inside the cab...fingers crossed none leak
So I ordered the RECON harness. Before ordering, I called RECON tech support and they confirmed what was mentioned above, and that all the new harnesses have the OEM connector and if I order from them that's what I will receive. well it showed up, and what I received had bare wires for the power source, no connector. I emailed them and now they claim there is no harness with a factory connector (and of course claimed most trucks don't have them). He said that I must referring to the connectors that attach to the lights, not the OEM connector in the A Pillar.
So, What am I missing? how many people have received a harness from RECON that has the mating factory connector for the connection in the passenger side A pillar? I can certainly work with the bare leads if necessary, but just confused by this whole thing.
