I've noticed with my Ex that it seems to shift nicely from 1st to 2nd and 2nd to 3rd with a fairly long duration between but then seems to immediately shift from 3rd to 4th no matter how hard I am accelerating. It just seems that it should stay in 3rd longer before shifting. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal? Thanks.
Are you sure that the shift you are feeling isn't the torque convertor locking up once you are in third? Does it shift again into OD? The TC lockup does feel like a litte shift as the RPMs do drop a little as the TC slip is eliminated.
I just read in the other thread that you got your tuner and are trying it out today, that should make some changes to the trans shift strategy, curious how and if it affects this situation.
I'm going to take her out again this afternoon for a run and check. This did the same thing before the tuner and I was hoping that the tuner would change things as I've read here on the forum that most have noticed a better shifting transmission as opposed to power increase. Also just noticed this morning that when getting on the pedal and running through the gears it has a slight noise that's difficult to describe but if I had to I would say it's almost a screeching noise but not real loud. Noticed when I had the OD turned off and just as it shifted into the last gear. Didn't notice this before the tune.
