No reading on scan gauge for ICP

I have the X-Scan gauge and connected it to my 2000 7.3 the other day. I am not getting any ICP reading at all. I know the ICP is bad and I have ordered one. It was full of oil when I pulled the plug off of it. Do you think it is so bad that I can't get a reading? I used electrical contact cleaner on the plug and the sensor but still no reading. I am gonna change it when the new one comes in but was just curious.

You should at least get what the PCM is sending as an ICP reading - sensor or not. Something else is wrong.

Yeah, I had read somewhere that some won't read the ICP but I think that was 2003-2005. It does have a really old DP tuner in it. Wonder if that could be effecting it.

All I've got for a theory is dirty/corroded/loose edge connection between the PCM and the chip. It's worth a look.
