Problem with Pyrometer
Soo I ahve a 2000 7.3, DP Tuner chip, intake, exhaust. Driving down the freeway more than anything, my pyro will read about 700deg. Lately its been freaking out and reading 1200deg, then bounce to zero then all over the place rotating through the whole gague. I checked the plug under the hood and put some conductive grease on it and it didn't help. Is my Pyro sensor bad? Or is it my gague? The ground connections are all good. Any help would be sweet. Thanks.

you can hook the thermocoupler probe to a voltmeter set on millivolts and when you start the truck it should start to rise. If it jumps all over the place too, the probe is bad. If not and all your connections are truly okay, the gauge is the issue.

Its an Autometer gauge, and its a direct connect. Thanks for the insight, I'll try the connections and see if the readings are jumping all over on the Millivolt reader.
