Gas to diesel swap with a twist

Hello all been awhile but new project on the go.so here's my dream ..
I have a 66 f250 lb 300 i6 on a 4speed 2wd and a write off 95 f250 w7.3 DI ON an auto 4x4 I wanna swap the engine and drive line to the 66 and see if I can keep the 4 speed or if it's gotta change out if so is there a mechanical clutch option to fit the 7.3 in medium duty even . Wanna swap to a Dana 60 and lift it for 35s +

I'm no back harder I'm an Hd mechanic by trade and have a fabricator for a brother so we could make anything work just looking to bounce some ideas and info

The 66 is a jewel just the way it is. The diesel is a valuable parts car - part it out.

The generation previous to mine used to hot-rod sixes. I remember hearing old guys talk about it when I was a kid. An open breathing six is a sweet sound. It's one of few with evenly spaced power impulses. If it needs a refresh you could set-up some quench and open up the flow. You could have a reliable, economical, fun driver this way. The diesel swap will be more work than driving and nobody else in their right mind would ever attempt repair on it.

Judging by several HS's recent ('let me see if I can **** on this") posts... he ain't getting enough of something.

Build the project that you have the skill to do that makes you happy.

We like pictures.

The powerstroke can certainly BE swapped, but electronically controlled diesels are much more complicated than a mechanical diesel like a 6.9/7.3 idi, cummins, or dt360.

That said, if you must have the ps, find swap threads and read read read....then ask specific questions.

More sarcasm I hope. Funny 'cause I bet the professionals would directly link automotive fantasies to sexual frustration.

Get a girlfriend and see what she thinks about it.

I have never seen one built and I know the 7.3 IDI would be an easier swap BUT I love my DI and a body swap would just that . A body swap...... I like the challenge I want a 5 or 6 speed pref mechanical clutch not hydraulic but the 4 speed won't take the torque and I know I can get a DI to run well with bout six wires
