2017 crew cab lariat 6.7L sync3.
i did some towing a week or so ago. truck is great by the way. exactly what i was looking for as far as power/towing etc.
anyways, after i unhooked the trailer and now back to day to day driving, every time i start the truck up it automatically starts the dash in the trailer tow screen.
i usually have it set on fuel history, but the next time i start it....back to the other screen.
No, you don’t have to delete the trailer. In the trailer selection screen select “no active trailer” and then go back to your other screen. That will stop it from happening

While I think this is correct I noticed my 18 doesn't keep the trailer active when I unhook it as it was suggessted on the forum.
i haven't towed enough yet to fully understand the do's and don'ts to suggest otherwise.

This is correct. If you unhook trailer while truck is running it will automatically switch to no active trailer. Otherwise you have to manually go in and select no active trailer. When the tow screen comes up first thing after starting that prompts me to look at which trailer is picked. I learned this the hard way after seeing i had over 500 miles on my utility trailer when I had only used it for 150 miles. Then it all made sense. The difference is when do you disconnect the trailer? When truck engine is running or after you turned off ignition?

Thanks. I've been trying to understand the towing screen mystery for quite a while. Usually it works just fine, but sometimes it surprises me with the trailer screen. As about 95% of the time the engine is running when I connect or disconnect the trailer umbilical, the behavior makes sense now.
I need to add the other three trailers just so I will have a point of reference when it connects.
I did something similar the other day hooked up the stock trailer and got to all the way back home from the show barn before I realized it was still on "Toy Hauler"... With multiple trailers saved I think it would ask me to pick one but with only one saved I guess it just assumed I was "re-connected".

In my experience it will not automatically prompt me to pick "which" trailer. I believe it defaults to the previously selected trailer. I have an Airstream and my utility trailer. One uses the 7 pin and the other the 4 pin. I am pretty certain I have had to manually change which trailer I am pulling if I am pulling a different one. For me it was also helpful to save each trailer because I could set up the blind spot for the different lengths for each trailer. It seems like it would ask you if your still towing the previous trailer but apparently it does not.
