Main valve body issue
hello I’m posting, hoping someone has knowledge on the main valve body on an E4OD tranny, I removed the 4-3-2 timing plunger “accidentally” now I don’t know what way it goes back in? Generally it has the same shape one side has a small threaded hole the same way the valve body plug, that held the plunger in the hole has, you can even use the same 8mm bolt u use to pull the plugs out on this plunger. Any advice??? Threaded hole in or out ???

Thanks mr mark I re assembled the tranny today and it chirped threw all its gears I ended up having a stuck 2-3 valve ,I cleaned up the main valve body , I was getting concerned that the unit could of been burned . The oil that came out had black tar like residue , but no metal shavings. Hopefully I can still drive the truck enough to save up for a rebuild. Thanks for the advice!
