My 1995 F350 Crew Cab now has 600,000+ miles and the inner sides of the front tires are wearing ahead of the rest of the tread faces. An alignment check shows all setting to be in spec. The truck still drives & handles great. I am assuming those 22+ year old springs may be a bit tired and new replacements may fix the issue. Does anyone here have any suggestions of a make or source? The most common name brand spring I am seeing through various sellers is from Moog. Your thoughts, please? Thanx.
Inner tire wear suggests toe out, negative camber or the tires are ****ty. I would have a reputable shop with a newer alignment rack recheck the specs ... Can you post a pic of the actual readings?
I would go the opposite direction. Check it with strings and squares of plywood. Check with the engine running and stopped. Watch the truck while someone drives it over terrain that flexes the suspension.
You are correct that with bad or worn springs it will be impossible to make it drive right. It is not exactly intuitive either. Bad rear springs will make you think you have front-end problems. You can have a brand-new front-end and with bad rear springs it will never drive right.
2wd? Radius arm bushings, pivot bushings? 4x4 pivot bushings? MOOG has always been good. Don't know if they're made in china now?
