There are still people who want to liberate California. This is the occupied Nation of Aztlan. It is to be returned to The Native Californios. They will not rest until all injustices have been righted, and they get a gambling casino on Alcatraz. They work closely with another group who wants to liberate Puerto Rico. There are some people who support and are members of both uprisings.

You can't make stuff like that up.

I consider myself to be a "Loyal Royal Subject of Emperor Norton". The United States government has no authority to collect my taxes, take away my guns, or try me in their court of law. I even have my own license to operate a motor vehicle, which I carefully crafted with cardboard from a cereal box, a selfie booth photo, and embossed with a melted crayon wax seal. Heretofore let it be declared, that I will no longer submit to the illegal occupation of The People's Interstate by the criminal armed forces of The California Highway Patrol.

Emperor Norton
Joshua Abraham Norton, known as Emperor Norton, was a citizen of San Francisco, California who proclaimed himself "Norton I, Emperor of the United States" in 1859. He later assumed the secondary title of "Protector of Mexico". Norton was born in England but spent most of his early life in South Africa. Wikipedia
Born: February 4, 1818, England, United Kingdom
Died: January 8, 1880, San Francisco, CA
Buried: Woodlawn Cemetery, Colma, CA
Known for: Proclaiming himself "Emperor of the United States"

I love it when I get one of those sovereign citizen guys in my facebook. If you do get a ticket driving your truck you can pay your fines with cannabis because it is actually legal currency. Just remember to write your name in ALL CAPS just like the names of countries are written and you will be protected by maritime law.

Revolutionaries are real. Really misguided. Really disillusioned. Really crazy. But nonetheless, real. For whatever reason.....maybe the weather.....they are here. All joking aside, could you imagine the resources wasted on monitoring these subversives? From the relatively harmless, like communist on campus printing newsletters, and wearing berets with their vintage surplus Army filed coats. To that communal group living in that big house with the vegetable garden......who all dress in boots & fatigues from the local surplus store......and mix religion, with race, and guns. My personal favorite is the over privileged children of wealthy families from the suburbs......white kids with dreadlocks - THERE, I SAID IT!. They self radicalize and really believe that they are building bombs to save the world. Can you imagine how much money from your tax dollars goes into the Homeland Security budget to gather intelligence on every group in California who may or may not be dangerous?

Makes you wonder if there are enough key words and phrases to alarm the federal algorithm causing investigation of people who post in this forum.

I'll get back to you guys later. First, I've got to deal with those guys throwing tear gas grenades into my house and yelling "SEARCH WARRANT, FEDERAL AGENTS, SEARCH WARRANT".

Made a brisket on memorial day, was OK but I had to finish it at 300 which dried it out some. Was still good.

Also got a pellet grill/smoker, wallmart 30 min from me had them for $380 and I don't have good luck at clearance time so why not.

Nice call on the thread...I was thinking about starting one, but I’ll help keep this one going too. I’m smoking meatballs on Wednesday and some friends are doing a whole pig on Saturday. Stay tuned...

First try smoking meatballs tonight. Had to cook them on a hotter temp as the family was entering the hangry zone. The meat had beautiful color and a nice mild smoke flavor but were over done. I’m going to drop the temp next time and take longer. Also warmed the marinara sauce, which didn’t make any difference.

You all are very talented for sure.

I was a cook for 24 years in the Coast Guard and had some rare training opportunities along the way. After all that I've seen and done, my most favorite type of food is regular food for working class people. I had a lot of cooks work for me over the years and the most important thing that I could teach them was to just listen. Listen not only to the words of your crew but to the things that they don't say because they can't get enough of what you produced.

Anyway, I have a Kansas City style BBQ sauce recipe that is sweet and spicy. I've been working on this recipe for a bit and I think it's about dialed in for my tastes.

My daughter is coming home this summer on leave, I'm doing some short ribs and then I'll do a brisket. Yum, Yum.

Well guys , I was forced to go buy a new Grill , I was out Qin up some Yard bird and realized , I was only cooking with one gas burner , the other three were gone , talk about flame out the back , I guess some of that chicken got cooked , anyway picked up a gas grill on one side and a charcoal / smoker on the other side , I’m going to burn it and see how it does with this weekend party for the high school Grads, worse case I’ll need to fire up the Home made water heater smoker for extra taste, stay tuned for 1 fire department calls or 2 Home town back yard grillin, yeeee Hawww
