I am in need of trying to locate my engine serial #, so I may pick up a new CMP sensor from international dealer but don't know where to look. I also need to know which part # I will need do to the distance I must travel to dealer. My '95 F250 runs good but on occasion the tach falls (the engine stalls) for a second and if running down the highway it will resume back to normal, but if at a stop light or warming up in the morning it will die. Tried pulling codes and get a system pass code. Any Ideas????
thanks, reccm69
Check out these links. The first one will give you the part# you need depending on serial number, the second is the directions on how to change it. The serial number should be on a label below the plastic cover for the fuel bowl.
Thanks, I already have the old CMP sensor out and the tag below the fuel filter cap is torn off. Is there any other place that the serial number can be found???
What year is your truck? If you have a '99 or newer you need the part number for higher serial numbers. That would be the easy way to do it. I'm not sure if all of the '97's used the newer part, but mine did.
Well, after searching till my neck was tired and then a little longer, and even going back to rest neck and trying again till it was sore, I still never found the serial # stamped in the block anywhere aroun the oil filter base. So I took my old CMP sensor to nearest International dealer where I was assured that the new gold pin sensor #1825899C93 would replace the old tin sensor #1825899C27. They said that the other sensor available is a #1825899C99 which also has tin pins was also available but the C93 was the same other than material pins were made of.
After that I purchased the gold pin sensor and installed it in my 95 PSD 4X4 and so far so good. Lets hope they know what they are talking about. And comparing price to ford dealership, saved $95 for same part by purchasing it from Interstate. Thanks Again.
