My 17 Super duty has 3,035 miles on it and is 6 months old and although it's a nice truck, I'm really starting to wonder how reliable it will be down the road. I'm having lots of electrical issues and each time it rains or I go thru a car wash the Navigation system quits working with the no GPS icon and its shows I'm cruising thru the Atlantic ocean. The climate control does crazy stuff like on AC it comes out the defrost, turn on defrost and it comes out the vents, then the rear camera is so blurry and grainy it's not really usable. Why have a camera on the tail gate when its not even clear enough to see the hitch when backing up? Messaging seats only work when they want to.
Totally stock truck and I hit a bump and the steering shakes. The solid front axle only has 1.25" gap between it and the bump stops which is surprising little travel, is that actually normal? I haven't felt it bottom out but it sure has reduced it's clearance a lot over the last 6 months!
Wow, sorry for venting, but when you spend that much money you would like something that is reliable. Its just disappointing as hell to have such a nice truck, this new, and having all these issues! Are others having issues like this?

Reason: Removed some of the historic wiring issues with past Fords
Bite me. Make it a total of 3 posts because of jerks like YOU. I'm not trolling, I have legit issues. Are you so Ford blind you don't see all the other electrical problems?
Oh, Wait, you don't even have a 2018. So if your precious 2015 Platinum was giving you all these fits would you feel warm and fuzzy inside?

Hi and welcome to the forums. There is a known connector issue with a connector at the rear of the truck. There is an extensive thread here detailing symptoms and fixes; however, Snowman_8 is correct in that going to dealer is probably the proper course of action. Let us know what they say! I hope you get a quick fix and get back to enjoying your amazing truck.
They have been very polite and have taken care of the issues as they arise. I've been in 3 times so far and my fourth appointment will be soon. I have faith they will fix the problem for the current issues, but the problems just keep coming and it's a hassle dropping the truck off (60 mile trip for me). How many times should I have to take a new truck back for warranty related issues?
From searching the net, it seems to some of these are pretty common problems due to water getting into connectors and such. Are they installing better connectors or same type of connector that will have problems later? I absolutely loved my 2010 Screw. I never had an issue at all out of it and it was even a 5.4 L. That is what prompted me in buying this truck.
The steering doesn't bother me too much. It's mostly standard bump steer from the solid axle. Most of my 4x4's have been somewhat like this. I'm way more worried about the electronics, wiring, and water being a continuous problem down the road.

-Lay off the car wash. They aren't good for cars or trucks, and are pure death to a motorcycle.
-Dielectric grease, harness plug.
-Buy an XL next time.
-Put plow springs on the front, or buy a BDS leveling kit. (the bump stops squish to half their size before they're really bump stops)
-Quality shocks and a steering damper will help the "felt bump steer", but not eliminate it. I recommend spending as much as you can afford on both.

Well, sir, I derfinitely feel your pain. However, ALL makes n models of new vehicles are loaded with electronics, and it is a crap shoot. After having my 2015 F350 King Ranch in to different shops 5 ir 6 times, I no longer trusted THAT vehicle. The dealer where I last had it, had a Fiat dealer right next door to him. I walked back and forth between the two dealers for 3 days while the Ford dealer had mine in his shop trying to diagnose the problem. I ended up trading it for a 2016 F350 King Ranch identical to the ‘15 and have NOT had an issue since. Yes, it is disappointing, but sometimes one has to bite the bullet.
Now, with yours beiing a 250, and have had it in for the same issue multiple times, is it possible in your state to lemon law the vehicle?
I was not, being a 350 DRW, the state I was in only lemon law up to a 10000 lb GVW.
I still think Ford has the best electronics, etc. I personally think they are better than the Fiat, and GM is out of the question for me.
Best of luck to you.
As more and more electronics are introduced into vehicles, you're right, there's a higher risk of something going wrong or haywire. My '17 SD hasn't worried me yet in terms of electrical issues. Although I've had a few minor glitches, all of which were remedied by a re-start. I can't comment on the bump stops, as I'm running a 4" lift now. Looks like others have covered that above. And for the HVAC, I've left mine on Auto with A/C on since new, and maybe had to change to full defrost a handful of times. The only adjustments I make here are the temp adjustment (between 18 & 22 Celsius). I would continue to work with your local dealer on any issues as they arise and fully document everything. Only other "mechanical" issues I've had were door related; 1) door alignment, I had the notorious door rattle / clunk when travelling over bumps or rough roads. I added 3 wraps of electrical tape onto each of the door catches...problem solved; and 2) door locks / handles freezing during winter months. Un-resolved for now, but this is the first vehicle I've ever had this much trouble with in cold weather.
Thanks. I've actually been here a very long time. I just usually don't post much and rather read and research.
It is a bad *** truck, no doubt, I just hope I start enjoying it more and quit having to worry about crap breaking.
Definitely more power than any of the others I owned, and when everything works, its pretty plush and enjoyable!
Yes, others have issues as well. This wasn't meant as a Ford bashing thread. Just looking for hope and answers.
If it's any constellation, my last two Chevy company trucks (2500 HD and 1500) have had lots of issues including peeling paint and lots of electrical gremlins!

I’m a little concerned about that stuff too. My 04 F250 has been trouble free for 14 years. Everything still works and it’s a great truck but I just felt like it was time for a new one. It’s scheduled to be delivered sometime this week so I’m hoping I can get another trouble free 10 to 15 years out of this new one. The gizmos are nice but I can’t see going that long without having something go on the fritz. Time will tell.
Yeah, I hear you about the gizmos. My concern exactly! On the strikers, I'm curious, why did they remove the adjustments? That was a normal adjustment years ago but Ford removed that dang striker adjustment on most their vehicles. The last 2 Escapes my GF owned had rattling rear hatches with no adjustment and I had to wrap tape around them also? WHY should I have to do that?
I also have the loose door issue which make is noisy sometimes in the wind and a little wet on the inside panels after a rain. Hopefully they can adjust that as well. Seems that the door alignment slowly changes with time, maybe due to the aluminum?

New to Ford and this Forum, having connector issues and not much luck with search can anyone provide link to the connector issue mentioned above?
Thanks

Here is a link related to the wiring harness from the motor back. The harness connectors don’t seal properly and allow moister into them screwing up the electronics. This is on 2017 job #1 trucks. Post #51 talks about the TSB.
