So, the previous owner of this truck told me that the bed had been replaced at some point, but I'm not sure what year truck the replacement bed came off of. Later, when I pulled the fiber glass camper shell off, the next time i drove it, the plastic strip on the tailgate flew off. Apparently the clips were broken..
I want to order a new trim strip, but I don't know what year truck to look for, I'm assuming it's a newer year, because I don't recall 01's having a flat top, and embossed SuperDuty on it.
That is a 2008-2010 gate. The only difference in the 2011-2016 is they added another body line horizontally that lines up with the top of the taillight horizontally.
Make sure u flatten out those raised up places with a rubber mallet before installing the new strip and that you have all of the pins on the strip lined up before you whop it down. Otherwise, it will not last long. Its an expensive little piece of trim.
