I'm just starting buyback process with Ford and want to know if anyone who's been through this has any tips or recommendations. Does Ford offer to replace vehicle? What should I expect for expenses?
Ford has agreed to buy back my truck. There is a mileage charge based on the mileage when the troubles started. Ford will pay full price for any accessories that can't be transferred to a new truck, they don't like selling vehicles that have holes in sheet metal. Accessories that can be transferred will be installed on the new truck by Ford. You pay the difference between MSRP of the two trucks unless getting a new one identical to the old one, then there is no difference in cost to you. If you don't want a replacement vehicle Ford will rebuy your old truck but I have no details on that.
And remember, it's ALL negotiable...
I got the @2.5k mileage charge and $2,000 of the upgrade waived on my '02 4x2 7.3L Ex replacement with the '03 Ex 4x4 6.0L...
Ford has now told me they won't buy my truck back because it was registered in my business name. They are saying its a commercial truck, which its not. I have always driven Ford and was asking for a identical replacement, but now I've got a lawyer involved and will be switching brands. Not what I wanted to do! My dealer has been great throughout this , Ford is just looking for loopholes so they don't have to do what's right IMO.
