First post here so hoping to find out what is wrong with son's truck.
99 F350 the air bag light is on in the instrument cluster. No flashing just stays illuminated.
We have done some testing and checking and the bulb for the PAD was burnt out. I have gotten that replaced just not back in the truck yet. He has checked cleaned all the connectors under the seats and at seat belts.
While it was not flashing a code on dash that the PAD bulb was out is it possible that the light stayed on in dash because the bulb was out? I am afraid we going to find a code when we install the PAD and that is working which will help in chasing down any problems. With the PAD unplugged from harness the airbag light on instrument cluster did turn off. I am hoping we got it fixed with bulb replacement however I have my doubts that it is fixed. Will no this weekend when I take him back his PAD switch to put back in truck.
When the light stays on it is indicated an issue with the airbag module or it's power. Any issues with the wiring to the components or the components themselves will result in a code.
Anyone have a recommendation for a scan tool or software that will cover the ABS and the SRS system. We may go that route
since he plan on keeping this truck another 20 years.
Ok we now down to this problem: PAD switch PPl/ORG wire down to 6 volts. Looking at wiring diagram that should be 12v being fed from fuse 22.
Where is the air bag diagnostic module locate in the 99 F 350 so I can check there for proper voltage. Looking at diagram fuse 22 is spliced to feed the PAD and module from fuse 22 so thinking there a bad connection in between fuse and PAD and maybe module.

Now problem solved. Loose ground under kick panel. Hard to diagnose a problem over the phone and get it fixed when person on other end of phone does not understand electrical troubleshooting.
