well when i bought the truck it did have the airbag light on, i wasnt too worried about it.. but now after my idiotic accident... in the HOW BAD DID I F UP? post.. the body shop told me the pass. air bag switch is bad.. is that a hard fix? or a recall or anything?
The bulb is burnt in the pass airbag switch. You can fix it yourself if you get new bulbs from radio shack. Search the post and you'll run across the right part number.
Are you talking about the airbag light on the dash or the on/off light on the passenger airbag switch being lit up? My airbag light came on and it was because the bulb in the passenger switch burned out.

The airbag light in the cluster posts a two-digit code at power-on for almost all airbag system faults including a faulty PAD bulb (LFC 27).
The code is repeated several times, then the warning light stays on for the duration of the power-on cycle.
Sorry, SHO89, I was trying to ask baslerxlt which light he was talking about. A burnt bulb in the passenger airbag switch will cause the light in the dash to come on. I think I burnt mine out by leaving the passenger airbag turned off all the time. Nobody ever sits over there (I don't have any friends and my wife won't let me date). I forget now what the blinky code was but replacing the bulb fixed it.
