Spraying lube in there won't get into the guide where you need it .
You need to lift the guide seal and spray the stem so it can seep down into the guide .
ok here is a update. I tried marvel mystery oil, pb blaster, engine oil none of these worked. So I decided to pull the head. I pulled the head but forgot to drain the block. So I got water all over and some got in the number 2 and 3 bore. So i wiped it out and sprayed pb blaster on all the bores. I looked at the head gasket and their where no tears. Checked the oil again and the oil was ok .I am going to take it to the machine shop and have it checked. But knuckle head me I cant believe I forgot to drain the block. Lesson learned. I will let you know what the machine shop says. Also the piston tops looked good no valve hitting.
Don’t worry about the water. Just change the oil and filter before you start it again.
Did you take both heads off or just one? Just for sake of mind you ought to take the other head off and to the machine shop too. You’ll need a head set anyway so aside from your labor and whatever the machine shop finds it really won’t cost you any extra. Then you’ll know your heads are good.
I just pulled the passenger side. But I was thinking of taking off the driver side. Your advice is very sound. Better to know then not know. Plus parts house sells head gaskets in pairs.
