Problem with Driver Side Door Lock

Hey Folks,

Got a weird issue with a door lock. Driver side door lock switch will no longer unlock either door when the door is closed. Works when door is open. Will lock doors open or closed. Locks do not unlock from key fob either. Lock but no unlock. Didn't try the fob with the door open. The passenger side switch works normally.

I presume the fob/security module talks to the switch on the driver side which is why the fob operation is affected.

I don't get why it would work with the door open but not when closed. Wire getting pinched? Problem with the security module?

Question - How does the security module know when a door is closed or open?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Problem solved. Looks like when the aftermarket security system was grafted over the factory system they spliced into the door locks circuit in the wire loom boot between the door and cab and one of the splices came apart. Why they choose that spot I'll never know but it is fixed now.

Happy Easter Folks.
