Voltage issue

Recently I replaced my passenger side battery through a warranty. That was 3 weeks ago, now my voltage on my edge is saying I only have 13.3V and will go up as the RPM goes up. Originally my voltage would always be 14.3v and now it fluctuates. Yesterday it was 14.1 today it’s 13.1v. I am thinking it’s my alternator, any suggestions?

I would start with metering voltage at the alternator at idle then at the battery. I think the alternator voltage should be 14-14.5 vdc

Voltage should not fluctuate with RPM. By definition it means bad regulation. Sometimes you'll see headlights or dash lights fluctuate. Not good.

Not hijacking this thread ! My Edge reads the same ad the OPs. Sits at 13.1 @ idle and rises with rpm,

What would cause this ?

You mentioned bad regulation ? Im not too knowledgeable on Alternators but do they have a built in regulator ? If so can it be replaced ?

Yeah so far by my research I think it’s a bad voltage regulator cause sometimes it’ll sit at 14.1V and other times it’ll be a different number. Might just buy a mean green alternator and call it a day.

I would put a meter directly on the alternator output, to make sure it's not a poor cable connection.
