Looking for more power

OK guys I'm new how and I'm looking for something to help as some power to my 99 f350 v10 motor is curenty out setting on a stand fixing to send the heads the the machine shop

Cold air intake performance chip. Even my 84 Chevy has a chip and hauls *** off the line

so WHAT is your PLAN... towing.. speed... burnouts.. impress the girls.. WHAT.. it matters...

more power... more torque.. both. how much MONEY ,,,????

Way to LITTLE information...

make the truck loose 500 pounds.... will make it much FASTER...
intake... chip... headers.... more air IN .. more air OUT... = more power. simple by design.. not so easy on a budget..
equally so on a 20 year old designed engine. why do you think Ford went to the 3 valve head on the V10... to limited on air IN....

my opinion.

more power is an option...change the rear end ratio is another

why do you need more power?

v10 2v is decent, v10 3 vavle is more better

adding compression means a solution for timing

had a 5.4 liked it, got a v10 liked it more, got greedy and got a diesel...like the power..dont like the expense...wonder who has my v-10 now.

If you want to go crazy with it, you could pick up a centrifical super charger. Essentially it's a belt driven turbo. They used to make kits for these trucks but that has long since past. I have a novi 2000 that I had on my 99 mustang gt.

I have contemplated some day putting on it my truck in the very distant future. The real problem is you would need to find a good performance shop near you as it would need a ton of tuning.

From my experience with a that supercharger on a 4.6 it would probably be a ton of fun and relatively cheap. The trouble is you will be turning high rpms all the time.

Everyone above had very good suggestions. If you do exhaust, make sure you do not do dump before the axle. My truck has it and I hate it. The sound gets trapper under there. You hear it in the cab. There is enough room to exit before the tire.

Before I get asked why I exited before the axle, I back into alot snow banks plowing and have bent my exhaust more then once. Not on this truck but it need an exhaust when I got it so I just rigged it the way the rest of my trucks are.

More power for what purpose? That question does need answers. Stoplight to stoplight or towing?

I too am in the "do gears first" camp, but since you have the engine out already...

Are you willing to run premium gas? Besides a cam and more compression, there may be places to beef up in the build.

Also depending on how much power you want, the tranny may need attention and a different torque converter (assuming you have an auto) to match the new power band.

And you may want to start a new engine build thread in the correct engine section. Lots of expertise in other parts of the forum, and the members there do not always come up into this more general section.
