Help me understand!

If the diesel is so strong then why do we always see post by diesel owners who have to make modifications to get power?

Yet, I don't see V10 owners posting near as often about their trucks power!

Yes I do own a V10!

If you could get 70 horsepower more by plugging in a chip you would too.

Lets face it, the diesels are easier to get power gains form than the V-10's. Only about 300$ to get anywhere from 50 to 100 hp more. When it is that cheap why not do it?

The reason you don't see V-10 owners posting about deals like that is because they don't exist. Sure you can put some bad A$$ headers on for around the same cost, put for adding as much power as a chip does you would have to supercharge your V-10 with will cost over a thousand dollars easily.

So why do we make modifications to get more power? Becuase we can..easily and cheaply.

My guess would be because it's the PSD folks who do the trully heavy pulling with their trucks and every little bit of added power helps when you're pulling something that weighs 14,000 lbs. You don't buy a gas V8 or even a V10 to tow a lot and often, you buy the diesel. I guess the V10 could do it but not as cost-effectively.

mac4,

It is the age old story, everyone always wants more power no matter how much they have. With that said, IMO i think you see more deisel posts than V10 posts because there are alot more deisels out here than V10's and most deisel owners have them because they tow alot not just occasionally. If they are towing up the hills at 70mph today there are some out there looking to tow up the hill at 80mph tommorrow, just human nature IMHO.

Because it's fun dang it!! That's one reason I got the PSD - for all the mods that are out there for them. You say "why?" and I say why the heck not.
