Courtesy lighting wiring.

I am adding some led strips under my doors on the outside and led strips under the front buckets. I'm looking for these LEDs to light up when the dome lights come on via using the key fob or opening the doors. The only thing I can find is that the wires I have to tap in to runs along the rear passenger side door. Can anyone tell me which wires/ color I need to splice into? This is on a 05 f150 xlt supercrew.

Thanks in advance.

I would tap into the wire for the exterior mirror puddle lamps. You will find a BK/LB wire going to each door and that should be the correct wire.

Black/lightbue is still the wire you need to look for. Poke it with a testlight before committing to make sure you have the right wire.

Would that be running along the passenger side rear door? There should be another wire maybe it's a ground.

I am not sure were the wiring is located, but that color wire should be serving any light that illuminates when the door is open (courtesy lights).

Update. The install of the entry lighting is done. I found on the driver's side harness that runs under the scuff plates. The black w/lt blue worked great. The passenger side was not so easy the black w/lt blue was dead (no power) and the light green w/orange was constant hot. So ended up running all the lights from the drivers side harness. Thanks for the help.
