Is This Even Fixable?
It's a plow truck, so it's a little beat up. I kinda got taken for a ride on this truck. It has only 21,000 original miles, but was a plow truck for the owner's diner. Seemed like a good deal until I got it home and started digging in.
This is the latest issue.
That's the passenger side tranny line. Looks like the case cracked at some point and the previous owner did the ol' JB Weld-On-The-Leak trick. You can even see fingerprints in the putty,
Is there a viable fix for this that doesn't involve a new case?
The truck's getting sold once we're out of the snow season. I'm not the type to slather it in more putty to temporarily mask the issue, I'd like to do a more respectable fix. Would I be able to cut the break flat and tap the hole for a new fitting?
