I found this metal hose line that is cracking. I haven't checked to see where the front end of it connects to, but it ends at the rear axle. My truck manual is packed (I'm in the middle of moving) and I can't find out what the cable is online. Any help is appreciated.
That's a parking brake cable in the top picture. There is no fluid in that just the inner cable. The Lower picture that's the hydraulic brake line and Axle breather.
Two things I see. Top pic is the parking brake cable. It looks like it is rusted so be careful trusting it to hold when applied. It should be replaced soon. The other is I see a flat spot worn on the hydraulic brake line. Not that bad but you need to get those other hoses away from it to avoid rubbing through. JMO..
