What is this

I just got truck back from getting body all done and I see a hose hanging. I’m no mechanic obviously but I see this block on rear end and the hose I have color red goes up and threads in but one I have colored blue goes up to nothing it was just dangling there is that just a vent. It had yellowish fluid on hose

Yes that is a vent hose for the axle. The open end is usually tucked up in the frame.

If the hose is old, go ahead and replace it too. They will crack right off at the brake line and allow all sorts of undesirables in your diff.
