17' Bluetooth Call Quality?

I bought a 17 Platinum in November and traded my 15 Platinum for it. The bluetooth calling on my 15 was excellent and nobody could tell I was in the truck. It was a dream for business calls.

Ever since I've had my 17 the bluetooth has been absolute junk. Everybody said it woulds like I'm in a tunnel. It's so bad I've had bluetooth completely off since the second day I bought it. I've had it in the dealership twice (for other things as well) and each time they said it works good for them. I have no idea how! Each time I leave myself voicemails either sitting still, or doing 85mph on the highway the quality does seem 'ok'. I wish I was exaggerating, but unless I'm inches from the rear view mirror nobody can understand a word I'm saying.

I've had it connected to my iPhone X, iPhone 7, and my wife's iPhone 8. They all sound terrible on the other end of the call. It doesn't make a difference if it's on CarPlay or bluetooth.

My father also has a 17' F250 Platinum, and while his has a 'slight' white noise effect, it still sounds good.

Has anyone else had this happen? Having my Apple AirPods in every time I drive is annoying.

I've been told mine is nice and clear. Wish I could say the same for some of the people calling me.

get them to swap out that Mic. It’s not the blue tooth ( unless you have The older module that affects Apple products ) try a Samsung. It’s likely the Mic though

BTW TXAustin welcome to the forum. As you can see I’m rather new here but I will say this is by far the best forum for all things FORD. As a new Diesel owner I’ve certainly read plenty of information.
