Well the install wasn't to hard except for the Torx screws on the tailgate stop. I thought it was a T40, but was slightly bigger. I ended up using a 5mm allen wrench and vise grips. Access is not easy so it was a slow process. I started by removing the cover above license plate. Sorry, I tried to imbed images, but failed. Next was the stop on right side which took me the longest. I then installed the Curt T adapter for wiring. This gives me an extra 4 pin connector for the Led light and keeps wires tucked away behind bumper. Last was just cleaning area for light, marking off center for light and tailgate area, peeling paper off tape from light and positioning it on center. I then pulled paper off either end as I aligned to level marks for alignment. I placed mine so it just rested on the plastic inserts from screw holes for center cover. It was close enough to center to be visible below tailgate and above bumper cover. I didn't take any light on pictures as those are all over the Rampage website. This light has running lights, left half and right half side blinkers and brake lights. Your opinion of light is yours. I like it.
BUT!!! After install we went for a ride and the first thing after starting truck I got a message about adding trailer. I just exited and then I got a prompt the BLIS was turned off. I just went out and added a trailer named LED. So we'll see how that works and if it eliminates message. Well I had to go back out and play around. Enabling trailer turns off cross traffic alert it also puts the display on Trailer Tow mode. I'm not sure what to do from here. I lose some features for adding the light and have to keep toggling the display. Kinda suxs. I'll keep playing with it to see if I can find a happy medium. I didn't have this issue on my 2011 F150, but didn't have a brake controller either. Reverse guidance for trailer also. So many features If I find anything, I'll repost. If you have suggestions, then please tell me.
You will always have a trailer connected status if you connect any auxiliary lighting or signals to your trailer circuit. Always. Only way to avoid it is to tie into another circuit. Most have used the tail light wiring. Magnum MFG makes a T-harness that goes off of the rear taillight harness and provides stop/turn/tail/ground/reverse.

I just went on Magnums site and can only find a T harness with the 7 way trailer connector plug. Nothing else turns up. They must've discontinued it. Thanx, great idea. I bought the T-harness from Curt to eliminate splicing into the harness, but looks like no other option..

It's not discontinued. It's actually so new it's probably not on the site. Call them up, tell em it's for a '17 super duty. They'll sell it to you. Guy to talk to up there is Nick McCann.

I contacted them via the website so I'll wait and see what they say. I'll call them depending on response.
Do these lights give you the option to turn them on from the upfitter switches so you can use them as white rear white lights and run them as turn/ reverse/ brake lights?

Not sure about Putco, but the Rampage has a model that includes backup lights.
I've disconnected mine until I can get home and square the wiring away. I'll either get an add on harness or wire it in myself.

This is the only Magnum product I could find similar to what you described - is this the one you're referring to?
