You mentioned a tube in the intake of the 5.0L that wasn't present on the 5.8L. I suspect this is the breather for the pcv (positive crank ventilation) system. You'll want to set up the pcv system on the 5.8L exactly as you see it on the 5.0L. The breather vent needs to be metered air on a MAF setup.

No, use the 5.0L PCM (power train control module). It is a MAF (mass air flow) setup and can easily accommodate the small increase in displacement.
