yes,the tranny will bolt up,but depending on the year of your truck you may need a computer for a 5.8 engine for the engine to run right. exhaust will also need to be modfied.

I would recommend getting another EEC. Especially if you have a E4OD trans. I had to get one for a 5.8, when I swapped out my 5.0 for a 5.8.

Well the air/fuel mixture is alittle different on the 5.8 to 5.0. If you are running a stock 5.8 NOT bored you might be able to use your 5.0 computer. Mine has a very small cam, and bored .040 over, the 5.0 computer ran it, but it has lots more power with the 5.8 computer.

The 5.8 is wider, thats where you would have to modify the exhaust. It would actually be a good time for dual exhaust, if you want it.

Are you running duals from front to back? If you're running duals from front to back, then you should be ok, if not you just need to cut the driver's side crossover and then weld it back.

I believe when it comes to headers, there is a difference between the 5.0 and 5.8. You will laos need shorty headers, to keep from having to do a whole new exhaust system.

You will need a new Y-pipe for sure. I run full length headers on my 5.8 with no issues, just have a shop make you a Y-pipe to tie into your current set-up, its not as expensive as people think.

FYI:
this is a ten year old thread.

You will also need the correct flex plate for the 5.8 and trans combination.
The 5.8 and 5.0 are balanced differently
