2005 F250 Lariat Crew Cab
I know these trucks are notorious for blower resistors and what not but I cant seem to find anything on my particular issue. My blower blows in the variable speeds across the spectrum, but it just doesn't have much Umph to it. I originally thought it was an A/C issue last summer since it took forever for the cab to cool down, but the air coming out of the vents is ice cold. Is the blower just underpowered for the volume of the cab or do I have an issue?
No, never got a reply, but I did dig into the system awhile back. The reason for the weak airflow was the blend door being stuck shut due to a faulty actuator. Dropped the glovebox, took out a few screws, and propped the door open once I had removed the faulty actuator. Good as new now! I’ll stick a new part on when I get time, but for now the a/c is all I want.
SYK, you can lose blower volume from it being clogged up. I've cleaned out three of my trucks with remarkable results each time. You have to take the blower motor out under the hood - really simple, just three small screws, a rubber vent hose, and the electrical connector. Reach inside and to the right to feel the aluminum condensor. I use an old toothbrush with the handle length cut down to reach up in there and brush. Don't push the junk further in, just lightly scrub, removing the brush to clean it off every few strokes. The whole process takes 15 minutes. There are more detailed threads on here, and some guys spray a cleaner up in there, just, again, not to push the junk further into the coils. It's just dirt and lint that got sucked in from the cab.
