Blower motor turns on and off randomly even when not moving
I DO not think u are saying the motor comes on with the key off...if that is the case ignore the rest of this.
Check the connections at the blower motor under the hood. Check the connector at the resistor as well next to the blower motor. If it has gotten hot and melted it, that could be the problem. If you do not see anything else, then it could be the brushes in the motor are worn out and they only make contact when jostled.
if you are talking about the blower motor on the passenger side near the fire wall, the one that blowes the heat & A/C to the cab:
When it goes out again, tap the blower with a hammer, if it comes back on you will most likely need to replace the blower. The hammer trick worked for me for about a month or so but the blower quite entirely after that. I can't recall how much it was to replace it, but it wasn't expensive.
I did a full write up on the blower motor and resistor with pics in the excursion forum recently. I'll try to find it, but you can go there and search for it as well. Easy job.
If you happen to have an excursion with EATC (climate control) the blowers have a speed control module in place if a resistor. They have been a problem area on other vehicles equipped with EATC. Not sure if the superdutys were ever equipped. If you have regular manual controls I may still suspect the resistor or pigtail may be melted.
Pretty important that you fill out your "Signature" in your profile, so that everyone knows the specifics about your vehicle. Such as F250/E350/Excursion, 2wd/4wd or dually, any mods, etc. It's not so much a "brag sheet" as it is to help everyone figure out the most relevant help for your configuration. Hence trk98's post of "if you have this" vs. "that"...etc. We are all here to help...
