No timing advance

I'm getting code 213 spout circuit open, check continuity of the spout connector checked out good. I looked at the timing briefly with the spout connector removed and they spout connector installed. No advance in the timing I looked at it briefly before my timing light quit working from what I seen in that short time the timing wasn't even close to the timing marks. I'm going to get an advance timing light and I'm reluctant to change the timing because the truck runs very well starts immediately no knocking a great acceleration as far as I'm concerned so that's why I'm confused. Can anyone out there help shed some light on this situation. P.S. the gas mileage is awful, this is a 92 f150 5.0

Check continuity of the pink wire, right from the ignition module to p36 of the ECU. Continuity at the connector is great, but the whole circuit must be considered.

If the circuit is intact, perhaps the ignition module?
